With a closing date of April 1st there is no time to fool about if you want to enter the Lune Racing Cycling Club’s Aughton Road Race. The 3rd and 4th category event takes place on rolling roads to the east of Lancaster. Starting at Aughton Village Hall, LA2 8LT, the route follows Aughton Lane before turning left to shortly join the B6254 Kirkby Lonsdale Road. After passing the Redwell Pub the route turns left and after a short climb, left again to complete the circuit.
The Aughton Road Race is on April 22, it is a Regional B event over 60km/38 miles. The organiser, Tony Sweeney, will welcome postal entries and can be contacted at email@example.com for more information.
Aughton is situated close to the M6, between Morecambe Bay, the Lake District and the Dales it makes an ideal starting point for a family afternoon out after a meal in a local pub.
