Good conditions for the Lune A run saw a small group of 9 riders that included 3 premier calendar riders depart Dalton Square shortly after 9am. It was good to see the revamped website has already attracted one rider to the group. The route to Longridge allowed a meetup with the Chorley sub-group of the Lune (Clive, Gary and Sam) on Longridge fell.

Then came along the shedding of riders

  • Matt, David and Hass decided to cut the ride short towards Chipping to avoid Waddington Fell.
  • At the foot of said Waddington fell the Chorley crew turned left back towards Bashall, Longridge and eventually Chorley.
  • At Dunsop Bridge, I decided to cut through to the Trough of Bowland, feeling my legs had not recovered from a week of being poorly and a tough CX race on the previous day.

The rest, John, new boy John, Ash, Scott and Ben (let’s call them the A-Team*) carried on with the ride through Chipping and Scorton.

Sorry, not much to report. Just a nice ride. Nice rides don’t make for very exciting ride reports.

Next week’s route is a classic. James’ Airton Loop. Not to be missed.

* Quiz: Who is the Mr T of this lot?
